Bed time :) see you all tomorrow. Sleep tight
Jane listened to his words and admired that twinkling in his eyes. It was like he just saw these moments of happiness in front of his eyes again and Jane was happy he was able to talk about it so freely. She only had a rough idea about what happend between Loki and his family but she knew that it was a raw point for him.
The next moment Jane found herself back in his arms again and heard him mumble an apology. At first she was not sure why he was apologizing but then she noticed the way he hold her to him. It felt somehow like he wanted to protect her and make sure that she was okay. Now Jane understood why he was apologising.
The scientist sighed softly at his kisses and tilted her head to the side to expose her neck to him a bit more.
"There’s no need to apologise, love. I’m fine."
Jane stopped them and slowly moved his hand away from her waist and truned around to face him. A loving smile was playing on her lips as she grabbed the collar of his coat and pulled him down to her since it was too difficult to tip-toe in these shoes.
They shared a soft kiss before Jane pulled away and kissed his nose.
"My relationship with Thor was a very brief one. After all the waiting and everything that happend on Asgard I just needed some … constancy. He’s working for SHIELD and has to leave the country and sometimes even the planet for months. It didn’t work. But that was and is okay. We kind of lost sight of one another."
While she was talking her one hand ungloved the other one and now her fingertips brushed over his cheekbone.
"It is over and you won’t hurt me just because you talk about him."
Another soft smile followed the statement.
"But it is very sweet of you to think about that. Thank you."
She was just about to catch his lips in another soft kiss again when suddenly a small black disc bumped against Jane’s shoes. The scientist slowly moved her head to the side only to see a group of young boys skating towards them at full speed.
Was all Jane said as she tried to kick the puck away.
Lost in the moment Loki was looking forward to another planted kiss on his lips until he felt her pause and mutter a quiet ‘oh no’ blinking his eyes open and lips still puckered the prince looked down at Jane who was starring behind him wide eyed, her skate frantically kicking at the puck near their feet. When he turned he found a large group of adolescent boys charging, sticks in hands and eyes on the prize. There was no time to move out of their path of destruction, with a stiff upper lip Loki adjusted his posture up right and waived his hand out gesturing from left to right in a parallel line, the boys crashing to the ice in a muffled heap.
Loki looked over their bodies at his feet bored, each one of them groaning or blaming the other’s for falling in the first place. Reaching down for the puck Loki tossed it in his hand
“does this belong to you boys?”
a pudgier boy with red curls poking out his knitted cap rubbed the side of his face
“well then I suggest you take this to the other side of the rink away from the leisure skaters”
In shaky movements they all made it to their feet, the pudgy boy reaching for the puck in the gods hands only to have Loki pull it back out of reach
“Your form is all wrong, offense should run for the puck and defense should be kept close to the net. Team’s have a better chance at making a proper score or keeping the other from scoring in their net”
“You know the game sir?”
a wiry boy with a short crew cut and no cap asked confused
“I sure do”
Loki responded almost offended
“No offense but you look like a bit of a stiff”
the other’s giggled in response. With a half amused smirk the godling unwrapped his scarf from his neck and slid his jacket down his arms
“how about a little wager hum? All of you against me, if I make a score you all have to take a flying leap into the snow… shirts off”
the boys hooted and hollered in response, the wiry boy stepping forward
“and if we win I get to kiss your girl friend”
Loki took a short glance at Jane and smiled
the boys whistled and Loki shook hands with the group leader. Handing his affect to Jane he explained it wouldn’t take long and winked at her as she skated to the bench near the ice edge. The pudgy boy threw Loki a stick and the pack lined up in front of the first goal, the puck blinded across the ice to Loki who stopped it and flipped it up with is stick, toying with it with precision before letting it hit the ice agin. His dark brow raised and lips curled into a grin, the boys looking back at one another unsure. Sliding the puck to the left Loki skated to the right, the boys spilt in a mangled mess trying to follow both the godling and the puck, majority skated for the puck but Loki reached out with his stick and snatched it up again. Racing for the goal at full speed Loki by passed the boys lunging for him, the goalie’s legs quivered beneath him and eventually hunched down to protect himself. With a slap shot the puck flew into the net. The other boys hollered in astonishment but the wiry boy slammed his stick on the ice. Loki skated over confidently and smirked
“never wager with a man’s girl friend”
he warned before skating off to join Jane, behind him the boys attempting Loki’s trick of deception with the puck.
Loki whirled around with his chin held high
“our deal? Though I would settle for one”
all the boys looked to the wiry boy with the short hair cut and even shorter temper. Ganging up on him they all tossed the boy shirtless into the snow, he wailed as his arms and legs flailed in the air but eventually came down in the powder. Looking back to Jane Loki still poked amused
“I never did like a bully”
It takes a hard journey to find the right person

I’m having a weird day.

what the hell
This is the best
"Go away, Stark" Coulson called out from behind the door.
"Cant do that, Phil. We need to talk."
"What the hell is he doing here?"
Tony glanced over Loki before answering,
"Lots happened since you’ve been out. Apparantly stuff even we didnt know about. We need to know what exactly happened to you…"
The door swung open and the agent flew out, nose to nose with the engineer,
"I’ll tell you what happened! This asshole," he motioned to Loki, "thought it necessary to stick a spear through me! I was lucky his aim was as shitty as his hair otherwise I’d be dead."
Loki gasped, stepping forward,
"My aim was perfect! Directly through your heart, Agent Coulson. I can read your thoughts, and believe me, you werent so lucky."
Phils face fell, his eyes glinting as though something was connecting, he cleared his throat, turning to the doorway,
Loki and Tony glanced at each other before stepping into the cabin. In was dark, gloomy, smelled of cheap liquor which wasnt surprising because of the empty bottles randomly set about. Entering a small living room, the couple sat on a couch, Coulson on a chair across from them.
"Whats been going on, Tony?" Phil asked, his voice soft.
Tony took a deep breath before starting the story from the beginning, from his first encounter with Loki to Nicks lies about his death.
"With all Loki’s homicidal tendencies aside, I cant say you guys arent made for eachother. I’m not surprise by what Fury did to you. Theres a lot you dont know about Shield. The darkest work was always done at his order, and we couldnt say no."
The room was silent, heavy, before phil looked to Loki,
"You said I wasnt so lucky, what did you mean?"
With a heavy sigh Loki’s vision fell over to Tony for a second before stepping forward, the agent flinching a bit as the god came closer. Holding out his hands in defense Loki made stern eye contact with Coulson, his expression placid
“Look at me”
Loki asked in the hush of a whisper
“Look at me and see I am not the creature who brought this awful fate down on your head. I was in the worst state of mind anyone could possibly imagine, except for you”
Phil leaned back his brows furrowing at the crease confused
“I- I don’t under-“
Loki cut him off
“yes. You do”
Confused brows loosened and slanted at the edges, his jaw trembled
“I-I remember thing’s, glimpses, but there’s so much missing, so much that doesn’t make any sense, but there’s a reason for that”
Coulson stated his final words sternly, his way of putting his foot down
“let me show you”
Loki took a half step forward only to be met with a full step back by the agent. Huffing a bit frustrated the raven held his hands out approaching cautiously but never faulting in the inches he made forward
“let me show you”
Loki urged a little more. Coulson looked as though he were both on the verge of crying and lashing out in anger at the god but stopped himself from moving away any further, the agents eyes darted back and fourth between Loki’s green, in a fragile attempt to read the god but the prince could only pursed on. Soon his narrow fingers were at either sides of Coulson’s temples and their faces came closer together, their eye contact never breaking until the prince shut them off, the agent’s soon followed. Fuzzing images filled the godling’s head, doctors hovered above him, one of them shouting to a man out of sight “This is wrong! I can’t do this! Can’t you see the man is in pain!” Coulson’s voice soon followed, it was pained and shaky, forced through sobs “just let me die! Please I want to die!” Loki’s shoulders tensed as the man in front of him spoke those horrendous words aloud, his voice reverberating off the cabin walls. Loki shook but held on, his head snapping from side to side trying to see the rest of the room and who else was inside. The doctor to his left continued to argue with the phantom in the room, but the other’s voice came in clear “If you give up now you leave a man to suffer, is that what you want? This man’s blood on your hands? Finish the god damn job I am not losing another man!” It was Nick. Gritting his teeth Loki took in long deep breaths, his skull felt as though it were splitting open, everything inside exposed, his forehead beaded sweat and droplets ran down his chest and back, he was on fire. In unison Both Loki and Coulson begged “let me die! Please I want to die!” the pair chanting, and crying. Tears stung Loki’s eyes and the doctor leaned over him holding a scalpel and the distant sound of flesh splitting open ripped through his ears, Loki screamed in agony.
A hard jolt forced the godling to let go of the agent, Coulson stumbled back and caught himself on the edge of a chair while Loki let his knees buckle and fall to the ground. Tony had shoved the pair apart and at the perfect moment. Wiping the sweat off his brow with the back of his hand he waived off his husbands aid to help him off the floor
“Just let me catch my breath”
Looking up through slits in his hair that hung in his face Loki starred at the agent
“That was- inhumane, how could they have done that to you?”
Tony held his hands out practically dancing between both man
“what the hell happened?”
he urged. Standing to his feet Loki panted, his gaze still fixated on the other man
“You were awake, the entire time they ripped you open, you were completely conscious”
Phil didn’t say anything, just stared at the ground, his cheeks wet from a mixture of sweat and tears. Hearing his husband grunt in annoyance Loki looked to him
“Agent Coulson died. Not for a few minutes but day’s. Kept on ice until there was something they could do. The science they used is an outrage, piecing a man’s mind back together like a quilt all while he watched, listened, and felt. That was the only way wasn’t it Coulson? As long as your consciousness was there they could fix you. You died that day, and out of selfishness Nick Fury kept you alive, forced you to endure a pain no man should be forced to experience. Your own resurrection”
Loki shook his head lazily at Tony
“they’re playing god Anthony, choosing who lives, and who dies. Nick at the heart of it all, and your friends… they’re in just as much danger. Expendable”
Gen nodded listening to the plan and the obvious problem the both seen in the quick meeting. Foster was smart, she’d have to keep her wits about her. But before she could add anything a simple question was asked. One she should easily answer but she couldn’t. It was complicated. Too complicated to even comprehend what she was thinking. Her head needed to be clear, she needed to drink her tea and find the proper mindset to meet with the damn scientist. Once more before she could open her mouth and find the words for Loki to hear he spoke. Speaking some of the truest words she’d ever heard him say.
"I know you do," Gen began. "And for that I am truly thankful to know you care or cared for me. However, I wish I could say I’m alright. It’s not entirely you that has me so on edge. I’m like this every time I’m in this suit. It’s covered in death." The brunette sipped on her tea testing the temperature and took a long gulp.
"What time am I to meet her?"
"Okay, after dinner I’ll need you to stay here. Watch over Riot and Nanna. You’ll be on speed dial so if I run into problems, you’ll know. The code to my weapon vault is zero, four, one, nine. Riots birthday," Gen smiled and finished her tea. She walked over to Loki, turning around as she moved her hair from her back. "Unzip me? I’m not meeting her in this, it’ll tip her off."
Loki’s fingers hovered near the zipper, their closeness bringing heat to his cheeks and causing his stomach to do summersaults. Clasping the hinge he pulled it down, the metal teeth filling their uncomfortable silence with their pained humming noise. Stopping half way the prince stared at the skin on her back, a distinct scar ran dangle between her shoulder blades, a blemish his hands never found or properly ignored when they had shared her bed together just the previous night. Tempted to outline with the end of his index finger Genevieve pulled away, her long chocolate curls sweeping back to hide what little he had seen.
Thinking back nostalgic on the little bit of information Genevieve shared with him about Riot’s birthday, the prince couldn’t help but smile, he wanted to sit down and listen to all he had missed, his first steps, first words, the first time he had ever asked about his father or if he ever did, but now was no time to pry. Watching the brunette disappear into the bedroom Loki continued to occupy the quiet kitchen, reaching out for Genevieve’s unfinished cup of tea and swallowing the remains, bitter yet relaxing. Rapping his fingers on the table the prince thought to how exactly he would occupy Riot and her grandmothers time while she was out practically saving this little family single handedly. Then it hit him, he had never been left alone with a child, sure his great grandmother would be there but overall Riot was drawn to him, he felt nervous at the idea and worried without Genevieve’s supervision he would somehow let his son down. When Genevieve exited the bedroom in casual attire he knew he couldn’t hide the worry on his face, she must have caught a glimpse of it because not long after she had returned did she question him
“what’s the matter?”
Puffing out his cheeks in a long exhale Loki shook his head
his voice coming out a little higher than he wanted it to, clearing his throat Loki repeated himself in a much deeper voice.
I feel as though I have made yet another dent in drafts, sailing through them and this makes me happy because I know my partners are happy to finally get a response.
Alas it is late and I need to get to bed. Expect more replies tomorrow. Starting from the bottom and working my way up with a few exceptions I will admit. Goodnight xoxoxo
Distracted by her gleeful outburst about something behind him the raven swiveled around to catch a glimpse at what she had pointed out. Squinting in search only to come up empty Loki opened his mouth to ask where but jane had already shouted her challenge and set off for the other end of the rink. Loki’s head snapped in her direction and grinned wickedly
“Oh you’re in trouble now”
Racing toward her it only took a few long strides to catch up with her. Jane squealed as he approached picking her up in his arms, but the ice was a bit more slick that he had first envisioned, his feet slipping out beneath him. Immediately frightened for Jane’s well-being Loki twisted as they both cam crashing down breaking her fall with his back. With a strained chuckle Loki screwed his eyes shut
“I remember doing this, I forget about the falls”
With a low groan the prince let his arms fall splayed out at either side with a giggling scientist on top of him.
Jane giggled at his joke und tried to catch her breath. Her heart was still racing from the adrenalin that rushed through her earlier. One part of her just wanted to lay down on Loki’s chest and enjoy the closeness but then she remembered that he was laying on the ice which was porbably pretty cold.
"You are not hurt, right?"
She asked as she moved up a bit higher to peck Loki’s lips.
"I hope I kissed it better."
With that she got up and strechted out her hand to help him up too.
"Maybe a race wasn’t the best idea. I can’t keep up with your long legs. It’s kind of unfair actually."
A soft chuckle escaped her lips and she went to hug him. Jane enjoyed the warmth of his body and the feeling of his arms around her. It made her smile.
Taking both of his hands in hers she started to skate backwards. Her eyes were locked with his beautiful green ones.
"When was the last time you went ice-skating?"
Grinning from ear to ear Loki followed her forward, their hands cupped into each other’s
“A teenager, by Asgardian standards. We play a very similar game you have here on earth, you call it hockey and Thor and I were very good”
in the moment Loki had almost completely forgotten his estrangement to his sibling and parentage, he was for once carefree, and spoke in such a way as well.
“We were the dream team, Thor the team captain and I his trusty side kick, we never went undefeated. Cutting left and passing the stone back and fourth between each other. You’d of thought we were a team all our own. It’s how we always were. Complimented one another and held up strong where the other fell short”
Suddenly Loki felt self conscious of his words, as though who he was speaking to and who he spoke of just came to light. Twirling Jane around he kept her back to his chest and glided effortlessly behind her in long elegant strides
he apologized out loud, not exactly sure where Jane stood on the idea of Thor exactly, in fact they had only mentioned him a single time since their first encounter which was brief and uninteresting. All he knew was that their relationship just did not work how they envisioned. A huge percentage of him was thankful, if his brother and her had not ended what they shared he would not be here today on this chilly afternoon with this incredible women in his arms, kissing his lips, and planning surprises for his enjoyment. The last remaining bit of his mind was a little sad for Jane, and wondered curiously if she missed him. Kissing her neck Loki hopped to bring her mind back to him and only him, never wanting her thoughts to faulted to another, a little on the jealous side he would admit to himself. Holding her waist with one hand and the fingers of his other laced between her own the raven let his lips wonder under her scarf to reach her soft skin and trail up to her ear.
